Most people do not know about that codebreaker. Thus it sells for 50-60m occasionally on contract. Your best bet is to start a new character on one of your other slots, get the codebreaker again and contract it to your first character.

The exploration probes are much stronger than snoop. They have never picked up cans that they are right next to so I would vote no on finding cans with probes.
